We are not here to tell you what you think constitutes a casino so we will show them all and highlight which types of games each has. The next casino to open should be Pickering Casino Resort which was due to launch Apr 8, 2020 but is indefinitely delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic provincial guidelines.

The history of gambling in Canada dates as far back as 1892 where under the Criminal Code certain forms of gambling were allowed. Over the next 80 years the only betting allowed was for horse racing and certain gambling events that gave their proceeds to either charity or religion. This is still deeply rooted in Canadian gambling today where local bingo, charitable lotteries and the such, still carry on to this day. Gambling changed forever in 1970 when the federal government gave the responsibility for gambling to the provinces and subsequently casinos began opening across Canada.

There are currently 4 casinos in Toronto with the opening of the Pickering casino delayed due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Casino Ajax does not have live dealer tables but does have electronic tables and slots. Casino Woodbine is currently undergoing a massive extension that is due to be completed by 2022. It is certainly close enough to easily reach from the city unless it is a long weekend, in which case it might as well be in Nunavut. Innisville, likewise, doesn’t quite make the cut.

We here at Casino Canuck have been gambling long before online casinos even existed. We have visited casinos in many countries throughout the world, not just Canada or Vegas, and can tell you that the Canadian experience in casinos is somewhat unique. Sure, we don’t have the multi-billion dollar complexes like the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore or Venetian Macau but we do have some pretty nice casinos that offer just the right mix of excitement and Canadian personality. So what do we have? Well here is a list of all the land based casinos in Canada including those that are just slots but we do highlight which ones are full service casinos. This list is more up to date and detailed than even Wikipedia. Some offer some unique character and we all have to admit that we need to make it up to Diamond Tooth Gertie’s

CasinoCanuck says:

To be honest, we prefer online casinos for the convenience. After all, Canada is big and winters are freakin’ cold. But we won’t lie to you and say a trip to a land based casino isn’t worth it, as long as it delivers the goods. So let’s see what this beautiful country of ours has to offer.

Land Casino Reviews

We are lucky as Canadians to have the choice to gamble, whether it is with online casinos in Canada or land based ones. Not all countries, most notably the USA, allow online gambling and most have severe restrictions on where bricks and mortar casinos can operate. Online casinos have many things going for them. They are convenient and safe (as long as you do your due diligence) and come pretty close to giving you the casino floor experience, especially with new options like live dealers. However, for some, the virtual gambling is not enough and they love the excitement that comes with actually being on the casino floor. Of course, Canada is a big country so not everyone has the ability to visit a land based casino but, for those that can, we have decided to travel from coast to coast and give some reviews of the best casinos in the country.

We will hand pick some of the casinos we have been to recently to give you a rundown of what you are to expect if you want to plan your next vacation to include a chance to win some big money and possibly catch a little entertainment on the way.

So what do we look for in land based casinos? Well, everyone has different priorities but some things are universal.

Casino Floor and Games

All casinos have slots and tables but which slots and tables do they offer. Every casino that wants to consider themselves in the big leagues needs to have progressive Jackpots like Megabucks from IGT and high roller tables for Craps and Baccarat. For most of us, we need to be able to find open tables for the amount we would like to bet and not feel pressured into tables that require a larger ante just because the lower dollar tables are too crowded. The slots selection should be diverse and you should never feel like “the granny” is hogging the top machine.

Professional Staff

You can’t really control the players around you except for choosing where you like to gamble but the dealers, pit bosses, servers, bartenders and everyone else you deal with should be professional and polite. The whole experience should feel natural and not pressured or contrived. A new and inexperienced dealer can ruin the vibe and servers that are “having a bad day” can bring down the excitement. In the end, gambling is a form of entertainment and if it is not fun you have a problem.

The Amenities

Following up on the entertainment aspect, the casino had better provide something more than just the slots or the tables. If we are going to make an evening of this or a weekend getaway, then the hotel better have some nice perks and the restaurant had better live up to the stars they are supposed to have. Otherwise I might as well save the money for gambling and order a pizza and fire up the Royal Vegas online casino.

The Surprise

Nothing makes a land based casino more interesting than something happening that you weren’t expecting. After all, the rest you were expecting and could pretty much get at home. What makes the land based casino interesting is seeing other people win or meeting some interesting people. So the clientele of the casino makes a difference. The casino needs to be a nice blend of high rollers, tourists, locals and guys or gals like you, who just enjoy the fun of walking into a casino and experiencing the action. What the casino can offer to make this more than the clientele is giving you something you weren’t expecting. Whether it is some upgrades, special offers or some personal attention, this is what makes a casino visit special.

GTA Online Diamond Casino Heist – Setup And Approaches

If you want to get your GTAO team out of Diamond Casino with the most cash possible, make sure you follow these steps.

The Diamond Casino Heist is the most involved and difficult task to pull off in all of GTA Online. If you want to get your team out with the most cash possible, make sure you follow these steps.

Just like a true heist, the Diamond Casino Heist in GTA Online will take a lot of prep work to pull off successfully. You and your team will have options at nearly every stage of the heist to determine how it will all play out, and your choices can drastically change how much, or how little, of that sweet loot you end up walking away with. If you manage to walk away at all.

The Perfect Diamond Casino Heist Setup and Approach In GTA Online

Master The Setup

You, or at least one of your friends, will need to own an Arcade to even get access to this heist, so make sure you have that ready first. Once you do, you can enter your arcade, watch an introductory cut scene and get access to your first mission via the laptop. This is a nice warm up mission where you just go out to the Post Op Depository, steal a truck, and haul it and its cargo back to the arcade.

Having done that, the real setup begins with scoping out the casino. This entire section is optional, but you’ll want all the intel you can get for this heist. You start out by finding as few or as many locations you can access the casino through, points of interest in the casino, and points of interest in the vault itself.

There are six access points to the Diamond Casino you need to photograph. These are the Main Doors at the front, the Side Doors to the left and back of the building with keypads, the Roof Terrace has four more keypad doors, the Security Tunnel underneath the nearby racetrack, the Roof itself has two keypad doors by the helipad, and the Sewer Tunnel which you enter across the street.

Inside you’re snapping pictures of the security guard near the front desk, the keypad to the restricted access doors, a security camera on the ceiling of the main casino floor and Is elwha river casino open today on the roof, the valet out front, and the vault blueprints in the manager’s office.

Finally you will examine the inside of the vault through various camera feeds on a limited time, so hit all these spots as quick as you can. The first is just looking at feed of the room with the carpet floor, switch to the grey room and find the metal detectors, switch again to see the security office door, find the staff elevator on the right side of the purple casino area, and finally look at the blue door on the left in the hallway.

If you manage to spot all these areas in the setup, you will be able to purchase some useful tools for the heist itself. The casino model will highlight all the access points you found, the door security lets you practice the hacking minigame to break in, and the vault door does the same thing but for breaking into the vault.

How To Approach The Heist

You have three main choices for how you can approach taking this heist on: Aggressive, Silent and Sneaky, or the Big Con. Each have their own setup missions, but all have six that are mandatory and seven optional.

You probably already know if aggressive is the approach for you just based on the name. This method is all about blasting your way through the casino guards, blowing the vault door open with explosives, and then fighting off the cops as you make your escape.

The Big Con is your middle ground between the aggressive and stealthy options, and plays out a lot like you would expect a heist movie to. You start out sneaking in, using disguises and subterfuge to gain access to the vault before you drill your way in, bag as much loot as you can fit in your bags before a timer runs out, and then either sneak or shoot your way to your getaway.

Silent and Sneaky is the one that will be the hardest to actually pull off from start to finish, but if you can manage has the highest chance of you getting the maximum payout. Again, you know what you’re in for with the title. This approach is all about sneaking in undetected, using silent weapons only when necessary, using a laser to open the vault, and grabbing the cash while never getting spotted by any cameras, staff, or security.

Despite each approach having seven optional missions, completing all of them makes them far more likely to succeed since they open up more opportunities for you to pivot and adapt with during your heist.

Finally, invest in your support crew. Hiring a gunner will upgrade your guns you take during the heist, the driver will leave you faster cars for your getaway, and the hacker increases the timer on hacking minigames. You don’t need to hire them all, but choose which make sense for the approach you’re going for.

Counting Your Loot

The highest potential payout for the heist, on your first run, is around $2 million depending on your approach and how many valuables you loot in the vault, but that’s before any splits. You at least have to pay Lester a cut, then any support team members you hired, and any other perks you bought to use during the heist. Then, of course, you spill cash for all the damage you take while running it out of the casino. Finally, you will decide how much you split between your crew of two to four teammates before the heist itself starts.
